Carefully Balanced And Monitored Support For Services in Clay, Platte and Ray

The Mental Health Board of Trustees takes its stewardship of public resources very seriously. All services are funded by a small fraction of each county's property tax levies designated for mental health services.

Nearly 96 percent of all funds administered by the Board are earmarked for the programs we support—programs which serve the residents of Clay, Platte and Ray counties.

Of the remainder, more than half are set aside in our emergency fund for unexpected program needs or services.

Before funds are awarded, the Board reviews applications to ensure that requesting organizations meet all requirements and are appropriately recognized in the areas they serve. Requests must be for carefully detailed programs that produce benefits for residents of the three Northland counties.

After funds are budgeted, organizations and their funded programs are carefully monitored by the board and our independent performance auditor.
