Cornerstones of Care partners with children and families to achieve safety and health through mental and behavioral healthcare, foster care and adoption, youth and family support services and education.

Traumatic experiences and mental health challenges can significantly impact a person’s ability to successfully function at school, home and work. Outpatient counseling helps individuals and families address the effects of trauma, improve stress management skills and reduce, or eliminate, the need for psychiatric hospitalization. Clients will experience personal growth and change by learning skills to process loss and prepare for the future.

Outpatient counseling for families, children and individuals living in Clay, Platte and Ray counties is available at Cornerstones of Care – North Kansas City. In-home services are also available.

You are encouraged to immediately contact Cornerstones of Care if you or someone you know is currently or has previously experienced any of the following:

• Depression, anxiety and/or emotional disturbance
• Mental health symptoms (self-harm, suicidal thoughts, hallucinations)
• Recent birth, death, marriage or divorce
• Stress of parenting
• Intergenerational conflicts
• Physical, emotional or sexual abuse
• Neglect and/or abandonment

A certification in trauma-informed care drives the Cornerstones of Care treatment philosophy. Treatment teams are committed to recognizing, understanding and responding to the effects of trauma and mental health challenges in an environment that promotes healing among all.
