Free Film Showings in Parkville Nov. 6 and 7

Park University will host the “Weight of Honor” movie screening on Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 5:30 to 8 pm at the university Alumni Hall, Parkville.

Registration is available at this link.

This screening is being held in conjunction with Park University Veterans Day activities. All students and faculty, as well as members of the surrounding communities are invited to this free screening followed by a question and answer session with a veteran caregiver panel.

Biology of Stress

The next day, a free film showing of Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope will be offered in Parkville.

This limited release documentary examines how abuse, neglect and other adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) affect children’s development and their link to health outcomes in adulthood. The film highlights how everyone can work together to support and build resilience in kids.

The showing is Thursday, Nov. 7 from 6:30-8:00 pm at the Platte County Community Center South, 8875 Clark Ave, Parkville.
