Trainings for Teachers, Facilitators

NAMI is offering free online training for Family to Family teachers and for Family Support Group facilitators.

Family to Family Teacher Training

NAMI Family-to-Family is a free 8-session educational program for family members, significant others and friends of people living with mental illness. It is a designated evidenced-based program. Research shows that the program significantly improves the coping and problem-solving abilities of the people closest to an individual living with a mental health condition. The course is taught by trained family members once per week for 8 weeks. Each class lasts approximately 2.5 hours.Family-to-Family Teacher Training will be held on July 24-25, 2021 using Zoom Video Conferencing.

Family Support Group Facilitator Training

These trainings are for friends and family members of individuals living with mental illness who would like to become certified to facilitate NAMI Family Support Groups. NAMI Family Support Groups are free, peer-led support groups for families with adults who have experienced symptoms of mental health conditions. NAMI’s support groups are unique because they follow a structured model, ensuring everyone has an opportunity to be heard and to get what they need.
