NAMI Basics Starts in Lee’s Summit Jan. 30

NAMI Basics is a free, six-session program provided by NAMI Greater Kansas City and NAMI Missouri.

The Basics Education Program is designed for parents and other family caregivers of children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral difficulties.

NAMI Basics helps parents and other family caregivers of children to understand the illnesses that are causing those behavioral difficulties, and the critical role families play in the treatment of those illnesses. The program is taught by trained teachers who are also the parents or family caregivers of individuals who experienced emotional or behavioral difficulties prior to age 18.

Classes are from Jan. 30 through, March 6, from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm at ReDiscover Mental Health Services, 1555 NE Rice Road, Suite 1595, Building A, Lee’s Summit.

To inquire or enroll, contact Amye Trefethen, 816-446-9474. You may also download the NAMI Basics PDF flyer.
