Families with College-Bound Students Face Change

Families with college-bound students should be aware of changes in parental access to health information and emergency notification from the school as the student has become an adult.

It is important to have student permission for parent access signed prior to any future potential problem. Seventy-five percent of all mental health conditions begin by age 24. That’s why the college years are so critical for understanding and talking about mental health.

NAMI created a video and guide Starting the Conversation: College and Your Mental Health. It is available at this link.
