CIT Training Seeks People Willing To Share Their Experiences

Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training for law enforcement provides a basic, 40 hour curriculum about mental illness, medications, crisis symptoms, de-escalation techniques and access to  resources for crisis  evaluation and care.

If you call 911 for someone with a mental illness, always request a CIT officer.

This officer training includes presentations by families with loved ones with mental illness and also those in recovery. For those willing to participate and share their experience in a training, please contact: Tri-Cit (Clay-Platte-Ray County): Angie Winkler, awinkler@sphkc.net,  or (816) 337-254; Mid-America (Jackson County): Sally Boone, sboone@rediscovermh.org or (816) 875.0209.

You may also learn more about CIT with this PDF flyer.
